VIDEO: Improved visual outcomes seen after cataract surgery in patients treated for DME

DENVER — Cataract surgery may help improve and restore visual acuity in patients with diabetic macular edema who receive ranibizumab, according to a presentation here.In a poster presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology annual meeting, Andrew A. Moshfeghi, MD, MBA, and colleagues evaluated cataract surgery outcomes of DME patients being treated with Lucentis (ranibizumab, Genentech) through post hoc analyses of the RIDE/RISE phase 3 trials.
