Renowned researcher José-Alain Sahel to lead UPMC’s ophthalmology department

University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine has tapped retinal disease expert and founder of the Vision Institute in Paris José-Alain Sahel, MD, to chair its department of ophthalmology, the university announced.Sahel will also become the director of the UPMC Eye Center and the Eye and Ear Foundation Chair of Ophthalmology as he joins UPMC’s faculty, according to a press release from UPMC.
