Draft guidance from NICE does not support use of fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant for diabetic macular oedema

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has issued draft recommendations for consultation, for the use of fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant for the treatment of diabetic macular oedema. The Appraisal Committee makes the following preliminary recommendation (taken directly from source): "Fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant is not recommended for the treatment of chronic diabetic macular oedema."   Please see link to the Appraisal Consultation Document (ACD) below for details.
