Bausch + Lomb and Technolas Perfect Vision GmbH (München, Germany) received FDA clearance to bring the VICTUS Femtosecond Laser Platform to U.S. ophthalmologists. The VICTUS permits cataract and corneal procedures to be performed on the same system, and takes variability out of some steps, like the capsulotomy (incision to access the lens) that would normally be done manually.
The system received European clearance late last year (see flashback below).
