Cognitive Impairment in AMD

Woo et al's study examining the close association of senile neurodegenerative diseases age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and Alzheimer disease concludes that individuals with AMD are at greater risk for cognitive impairment. This assertion merits further elaboration. We believe that the Woo et al study may be confounded by selection bias. The control subjects include Koreans sampled from the Korean Longitudinal Study on Health and Aging.
