Abbott to acquire OptiMedica for up to $400 million
Abbott has agreed to purchase OptiMedica for $250 million in cash and additional milestone payments of up to $150 million, according to a news release. Murthy Simhambhatla, senior vice president of Abbott Medical Optics, called the move an entry point for Abbott into the femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery market.
