Increased excavation, neuroretinal rim thinning common in optic disc progression

Increased excavation and neuroretinal rim thinning, particularly in the inferotemporal quadrant, were the most common features of optic disc progression, according to a study.The study included 336 eyes of 168 patients with either high-risk ocular hypertension or early glaucoma who underwent optic disc photography through dilated pupils at baseline and annual follow-up appointments.
