Schwind introduces flagship excimer laser

AMSTERDAM — Schwind introduced its new flagship excimer laser to the Amaris product line, the company announced in a press release here. The Amaris 1050RS operates at 1050 Hz, allowing an ablation time of 1.3 seconds per diopter, reducing corneal exposure time and minimizing corneal drying, according to the release. Features of the platform include an Intelligent Thermal Effect Control feature , which protects tissue from thermal damage, and Latency-Free Tracking,  which anticipates and “pre-compensates” eye movement before triggering subsequent laser pulses, resulting in zero latency, according to the release.
