ESCRS commemorates Joseph Colin
AMSTERDAM — “A very special person made for a special destiny.” With these words during the opening ceremony of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting, Philippe Sourdille, MD, commemorated Joseph Colin, MD, who passed away earlier this year. Colin served on the ESCRS board for 8 years and was among the leading personalities in the societies. He was remembered as an innovator with a critical, independent mind, who enthusiastically embraced new approaches but never forgot to maintain the objective, rigorous attitude of the scientist.
