Glaucoma filtration device may have transient effect on anterior segment parameters

Surgery with a miniature glaucoma implant reduced IOP and had a transient effect on anterior segment parameters, according to a study. The prospective study consisted of 19 eyes of 19 consecutive patients who received the Ex-PRESS miniature glaucoma implant (Alcon) and were evaluated before implantation and at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 3 months postoperatively. Anterior and posterior corneal curvature, anterior and posterior corneal astigmatism, anterior chamber depth, anterior chamber volume and anterior chamber angle were measured before and after surgery.
