Color vision test may help detect patients with DME

Foveal thickness in patients with diabetes mellitus correlated with color vision error scores, which may help detect diabetic macular edema, according to a study.Seventy-three eyes of 73 patients with diabetes mellitus were analyzed using the Seoul National University color vision test and optical coherence tomography.Investigators examined DME screening using the color vision test by comparing the color vision abnormality with macular thickness or volume measured by OCT.
