Open globe trauma may lead to retinal detachment

Open globe trauma commonly causes retinal detachment, which may take weeks to appear after the traumatic event, according to a study. In a retrospective review of 893 open globe injuries at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary over more than 10 years, investigators measured detachment time and classified clinical factors of retinal detachment after open globe injury using multivariable logistic regression.
