Therapeutic PK resolves interface infection after DSAEK

Therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty eliminated interface infection after Descemet’s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty, according to study findings.The retrospective case series included 10 eyes that underwent DSAEK and subsequently developed unilateral interface infection. Seven eyes were unresponsive to conservative treatment and underwent therapeutic PK involving en bloc removal of the recipient cornea and DSAEK graft. The other three eyes were treated with fortified topical antibiotics.
