Nanosecond YAG laser effectively treats vitreous floaters
LONDON – At the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting here, Marie-Jose Tassignon, MD, discusses a nanosecond YAG laser treatment for vitreous floaters. Tassignon describes three types of floaters: Category 1 are characterized as very dark floaters close to the retina, which can only be found using OCT analysis of the anterior interface; Category 2 are large, well suspended on vitreous strands, which are most easily treated; and Category 3 are floaters which are dispersed throughout the vitreous, which are the most difficult to treat.
