Eyes with TIF more likely to develop textural interface opacity after DSAEK

Eyes with transient interface fluid displayed on intraoperative optical coherence tomography are more likely to develop textural interface opacity after Descemet’s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty, according to study findings.Researchers analyzed 76 eyes of 69 patients who underwent DSAEK between October 2011 and September 2013 as part of the PIONEER intraoperative and perioperative OCT study. Imaging was performed via intraoperative OCT (iOCT) after lenticule apposition with complete air fill and after air-fluid exchange. OCT images were also obtained 1 day after surgery.
