Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery yields longer operating room time than traditional surgery

The time a patient spent in the operating room during femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery was substantially longer than the time a patient spent during traditional cataract surgery, according to a study. The retrospective study was based on a 6-month data review of an operating room that housed a femtosecond laser. The study included 420 cataract cases, of which 162 underwent femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery.
