Treat-and-extend offers significant improvements vs. as-needed schedule
VIENNA, Austria — Results of a study carried out in a Swiss clinic showed improved outcomes following anti-VEGF therapy with a treat-and-extend approach compared with a previous as-needed regimen, according to a presenter here.“We switched to treat-and-extend in February 2012 for both treatment-naïve patients and for those previously treated with as-needed,” Christian Pruente, MD, said at the Advanced Retinal Therapy meeting.
