Multicolor OCT system to help in diagnosis, treatment of ocular diseases

PHILADELPHIA — New developments in multicolor OCT for neuro-ophthalmology may aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis and diabetic retinopathy, according to a presentation here.“In a couple of years, you’re going to be able to look at patients with diabetic retinopathy and not only just look at the hemorrhage … but you’re going to be able to look at the metabolic activity of that retina,” Robert C. Sergott, MD, said at the Wills Eye Alumni Conference.
