VIDEO: DALK shows advantages over conventional penetrating keratoplasty

VIENNA — At the European Society of Ophthalmology meeting, Donald Tan, MD, talks about his results with deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty. The Singapore Corneal Transplant Study register has been collecting results of more than 4000 transplantation procedures over 25 years, and shows that penetrating keratoplasty today is performed in only 14% of the patients, while DALK is used in 30% and endothelial procedures in more than 50%.
