Phaco alone and with viscogonioplasty may result in similar IOP reductions

Combined phacoemulsification-viscogonioplasty and phacoemulsification alone may have the same effects on long-term IOP in primary angle-closure glaucoma, according to a study.The prospective randomized clinical trial evaluated 46 eyes that underwent phacoemulsification alone vs. 45 eyes that underwent combined phacoemulsification and viscogonioplasty (VGP) to compare long-term IOP in primary angle-closure glaucoma patients.
