Intraoperative miosis associated with higher risk of complications during cataract surgery

NEW ORLEANS — Intraoperative miosis increased the risk of complications during cataract surgery, according to a study presented here. “Understanding the rates of complications associated with intraoperative miosis provides an estimate of economic burden and the potential gain associated with the opportunity to reduce their incidence,” Steven M. Silverstein, MD, FACS, said at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting.
