No differences seen with anti-inflammatory drops after SLT

Anti-inflammatory drops did not make a significant difference in pain, redness, cells in the anterior chamber or peak IOP in patients who underwent selective laser trabeculoplasty, according to a study. Researchers included 132 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma, normal-tension glaucoma or ocular hypertension in the prospective, randomized clinical trial. All patients underwent SLT in both eyes. One eye of each patient was treated after surgery with either indomethacin 0.1% or dexamethasone 0.1% three times a day for 1 week, and the other eye did not receive any anti-inflammatory treatment.
