VIDEO: Speaker reviews barriers and advancements in glaucoma medical management
At Kiawah Eye, Thomas W. Samuelson, MD, reviews reasons why fewer advancements have been made in pharmacological treatment of glaucoma compared with significant advancements in surgical and laser offerings. For one, existing prostaglandins are already "first line favorites," setting the bar high for new compounds to enter the arena. However, new medical management options are emerging, including management with combinations of "MIGS and meds."
