During office hours, physicians spent 27% of their time providing direct clinical face time to patients, according to data published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.Physicians also spend almost 50% of their time on electronic health records and desk work during the day in addition to an extra 1 to 2 hours each night during their personal time, Christine A. Sinsky, MD, from the American Medical Association, and colleagues found.
