PUBLICATION EXCLUSIVE: Multiple surgical options available to correct dislocated IOLs

Cataract surgery has an amazing success rate, and it is anticipated that less than 1% of IOLs will become dislocated after routine phacoemulsification. Certain pre-existing conditions such as pseudoexfoliation syndrome, Marfan syndrome and traumatic zonular loss can predispose patients to late dislocation of the IOL even in the setting of a technically perfect original cataract surgery.
