Tacrolimus treats steroid-refractory vernal keratoconjunctivitis

Tacrolimus eye ointment for steroid-refractory vernal keratoconjunctivitis significantly improved symptoms and signs after 12 weeks but did not significantly improve visual acuity, according to a study.The biggest advantage of tacrolimus is that it does not cause cataracts or glaucoma in patients with vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC), so it can be used for prolonged periods of time.
