Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month aims to prevent diabetes-related blindness

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month, which aims to educate the public on how diabetes affects vision, the types of eye diseases, risk factors and treatment options, according to a press release from Prevent Blindness.
Diabetes is the leading causes of new cases of blindness in adults, with patients with diabetes 25 times more likely to become blind than those who do not have diabetes, the release said.
