2017 year in review: Survival of the fittest
The year 2017 brought a number of uncharacteristic tragic events on both the Mother Nature side and the terrorism side. The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season had 17 named storms, with the four largest hurricanes — Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria — resulting in hundreds of billions of dollars in damages. Terrorism struck the heart of Las Vegas, London, Barcelona and most recently a small rural Texas community.
