New AAO president starts term

Keith D. Carter, MD, FACS, officially began his term as the 2018 president of the American Academy of Ophthalmology on Jan. 1. Carter served as president-elect in 2017 and was an at-large member of the board of trustees from 2007 to 2010.
Carter brings 30 years of experience to the post and will focus on enhancing the community impact of the AAO and the profession, according to an AAO press release.
