WAILEA, Hawaii — Yvonne Ou, MD, received the Hawaiian Eye Comprehensive Program’s Speaker of the Day for Wednesday.
Ou presented “Apps to Help the Visually Impaired.” Ou described VoiceOver in the Apple iOS, Seeing AI, BeMyEyes and Aira, noting that VoiceOver and Seeing AI are “game changers.” Ou also said that as artificial intelligence and deep learning systems improve they will disrupt the role of the doctor and professional graders.
