Ophthotech has begun a gene therapy research collaboration that will use novel gene therapy technology to discover and develop ocular disease treatments, according to a press release.
The company has entered into sponsored research agreements with the University of Massachusetts Medical School and its Horae Gene Therapy Center to utilize a “minigene” therapy approach and other gene delivery technologies to target retinal diseases, the release said.
