“New discoveries are reversing a lot of the old interpretations,” David Touboul, MD, PhD, said. “We are nearer to understanding the pathophysiology of the disease, developing new screening approaches, new interpretations of the cross-linking effects, and there is a lot of discussion on combined procedures.
