Nidek has launched the GS-1, the first automated gonioscopy device with 360° color iridocorneal angle imaging, according to a press release.
Using a 16-surface multi-mirrored prism lens, the GS-1 was designed to capture the entire 360° of the angle, the release said. Acquired images can be “stitched” together, which provides a view of the entire angle to support assessment and clinical findings. Diagnosis can occur after image acquisition instead of at the time of assessment, which makes this device different from classic gonioscopy.
