Laser vision correction procedure volume increased in 2018

In 2018, laser vision correction procedure volume increased in the U.S. for the third year in a row, according to the Refractive Surgery Council.
Procedure volume increased by 6.2% from 2017, with more than 843,000 procedures performed. This continues a 3-year upward trend in procedures such as LASIK, PRK and small incision lenticule extraction, according to a press release.
The Refractive Surgery Council was founded in 2010 and supports educational efforts to ensure public awareness and understanding of the benefits of laser vision correction procedures.
