Funds support ophthalmologists who use big data to advance patient care

Seven ophthalmologists who will use the AAO IRIS Registry will receive analytic programs from two funds developed to advance big data investigations of eye disease, according to a press release from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
The Knights Templar Eye Foundation Inc. Pediatric Ophthalmology Fund supports analyses investigating common and rare eye diseases that affect children, while the H. Dunbar Hoskins Jr., MD, Center for Quality Eye Care IRIS Registry Research Fund supports those who want to harness the power of the registry to advance patient care.
