SAN FRANCISCO — The severity of lower eyelid festoons can be lessened with combined radiofrequency and microneedling, with a greater aesthetic impact noted in higher-grade conditions, according to a study.
Severe festoons become moderate and moderate festoons become mild, Sathyadeepak Ramesh, MD, said at the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery meeting.
However, in milder cases, he said, “You can make a modest improvement in festoons; you can’t eradicate the festoon.”
