For the first time, more women than men are in medical school

Women made up the majority of enrolled medical students in the United States for the first time, according to data for the 2019-2020 academic year.
β€œThe steady gains in the medical school enrollment of women are a very positive trend, and we are delighted to see this progress,” David J. Skorton, MD, president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges, said in a press release.
