FDA clears J&J Vision’s astigmatism management software

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for astigmatism management software for use with the Catalys precision laser system, according to a press release.
The Catalys cOS 6.0 software is intended to facilitate cataract surgery by minimizing data entry and transcription errors, reducing time spent on calculations and reducing the need for intraoperative aberrometry for toric IOL alignment.
In collaboration with Cassini Technologies, Johnson & Johnson Vision has added iris registration for automatic cyclorotation compensation.
