VIDEO: Peripheral abnormalities correlate with retinal diagnoses

DENVER — Ultra-widefield imaging showed that patients with diabetic retinopathy tended to have dot and blot hemorrhages, and patients with age-related macular degeneration tended to have drusen, according to a study at the ARVO meeting. Paripoorna Sharma, of the UC San Diego Shiley Eye Institute, said the finding of sclerosis of vessels and pigmentation in patients with diabetic retinopathy was novel.
