“It’s a whole new type of therapeutic approach that could be useful to treat geographic atrophy,” he said.
AVD-104 showed efficacy in preclinical studies in the reduction of inflammation mediated by macrophages in animal models and did not cause any anatomic or functional adverse events, according to Regillo.
