VIDEO: Ocular oncology expert presents case with paraneoplastic syndrome

In this Healio Video Perspective from the Retina Society meeting, Carol Shields, MD, describes an interesting case she saw in her office.
Shields said a middle-aged woman came in with dense, rapid-onset cataracts.
“Someone thought she had a tumor in one of her eyes, but we couldn’t even see the tumor. The cataracts were so dense,” she said.
After cataract surgery and further evaluation, Shields and colleagues saw signs of bilateral diffuse uveal melanocytic proliferation.
