VIDEO: Updated tools needed for patient-reported outcome measures in refractive surgery

FRANKFURT, Germany — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ESCRS winter meeting, Anders Behndig, MD, PhD, discusses the need to improve, update and use in a more structured way patient-reported outcome measures.
“The Catquest-9SF is made for standard cataract surgery and doesn’t take into account, for example, whether the patient has to use glasses or not,” Behndig said. “This is a challenge because we are also doing cataract and refractive surgery. For refractive surgery this is important whether the patient still needs to use glasses after surgery or not.”
