Sight Sciences awarded $34 million in patent infringement case against Alcon

Sight Sciences received a positive jury trial verdict of $34 million in a patent infringement case against Alcon and its Hydrus microstent, according to a press release.
The jury found that Alcon willfully infringed three Sight Sciences’ patents, U.S. Patent No. 8,287,482, No. 9,370,443 and No. 11,389,328, with Ivantis’ sale of the Hydrus to Alcon. Sight Sciences was awarded monetary damages of $5.5 million in lost profits and $28.5 million in royalty damages for sales of the Hydrus from its commercial launch through the trial.
