A 56-year-old woman with a history of relapsed/refractory IgG kappa multiple myeloma presented with a 3-day history of right eye redness, pain, photophobia and profound visual decline.
She reported frequent overnight wear of daily disposable soft contact lenses.
Her symptoms began after an eyebrow waxing session during which she rubbed her right eye while wearing her lenses. The following day, she noted worsening irritation and replaced her contact lenses for comfort. Over the subsequent 2 days, there was progressive redness, discomfort and blurred vision, prompting her to wear an eye patch.
