AI and machine learning are becoming household terms.
Anyone who invests in the U.S. stock market is familiar with the extraordinary growth and valuation of companies like Nvidia and Intel. Huge amounts of human and financial capital are being invested into the application of AI and machine learning (ML) to nearly everything we do today. Ophthalmology, while a laggard in the application of AI, is catching up. I will share a few thoughts as to where AI may benefit ophthalmologists the most.
