Pegcetacoplan injections slowed progression of geographic atrophy but had no impact on visual acuity in a real-world setting, according to a study published in Vision.
“GA and [neovascular age-related macular degeneration] often coexist in the same eye; approximately a quarter of all new diagnoses of nAMD have concurrent GA, and approximately 25% of GA cases without nAMD at baseline are diagnosed with nAMD within 3 years,” Jessica A. Cao, clinical research fellow at Retina Consultants of Texas, and colleagues wrote. “Therefore, there remains a major unmet need to better
