WASHINGTON — A scleral reinforcement procedure resulted in minimal endothelial cell loss, according to a study presented at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting.
Arsham Sheybani, MD, ABO, presented data on the endothelial health of eyes that underwent bio-interventional scleral reinforcement of cyclodialysis cleft with CycloPen (Iantrek).
“As we all know, with the CyPass micro-stent [Alcon] that had been recalled, there were concerns with endothelial health, especially in cases where it had been left too far into the anterior chamber,” he told Healio.
