SpyGlass Pharma announced the acquisition of Advanced Vision Science in an effort to boost its IOL manufacturing capacity, according to a press release.
SpyGlass acquired all outstanding stock of Advanced Vision Science (AVS) for $13 million in cash.
AVS was a subsidiary of Santen Pharmaceutical and is the current supplier of IOLs for Spyglass at it develops the bimatoprost drug pad-IOL, or BIM-IOL, system, which is under investigation in two phase 3 trials, according to the release.
