Cellular Dynamics granted $1.2 million to develop patient-derived stem cells for AMD
The National Eye Institute has granted Cellular Dynamics International a $1.2 million contract to manufacture clinically compatible induced pluripotent stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell-derived human retinal pigment epithelial cells, according to a company press release.The induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and iPSC-derived human retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells will be derived from patients with dry age-related macular degeneration and used for investigational new drug-enabling studies, according to the release.
