Afortunadamente, ahora tenemos acceso a innumerables tratamientos, como el entrecruzamiento del colágeno corneal y PRK guiado por topografía.Uno de los tratamientos de queratocono más interesantes es el uso de segmentos de anillos corneales intrasomales (ICRS), que ayudan a reducir los errores refractivos, mejorar la agudeza visual y regularizar la superficie de la córnea. Un número creciente de datos a largo plazo sugiere también que los ICRS pueden ayudar a retrasar o incluso eliminar la necesidad de la queratoplastia penetrante.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International announced in a press release that J. Michael Pearson has returned as its CEO after taking medical leave of absence for severe pneumonia and other complications.Howard B. Schiller, who had been named Valeant’s interim CEO, will continue as a member of Valeant’s board of directors while transitioning out of his current duties, according to the release. Robert A. Ingram has been named chairman of the board, with Valeant separating the roles of chairman and CEO, the release reported.
